Giraffe's Low-Carb Korean Style Bean Sprouts

We tend to crave certain Asian Food Dishes, every once in awhile, especially since we've moved away from Hawaii.  One of our favorite side dishes is our Korean Style Bean Sprouts.

This dish has many different variations. However, ours is a little more basic. But, definitely doesn't lack the flavor.

Our bean sprout dish is wonderful on many different levels. They are very low-carb, healthy, and super easy to make.  😤

Our preparation time was less than 5 minutes and cooking time, another 10 minutes.

Our healthy ingredients for the week include:

  • 6 Tbsp. Sesame Oil
  • 2 Packages of Bean Sprouts
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
We'll begin by heating 3 Tbsp. of Sesame Oil in our skillet on medium heat.

Next, we'll add our bean sprouts to our skillet and will evenly sprinkle our Garlic Powder over them.

We'll then, drizzle the remaining 3 Tbsp. of Sesame Oil over our bean sprouts, will stir, cover, and cook for 5 minutes.

We want our cooked sprouts to be translucent, but still a little crisp.

If we over cook our sprouts, they may taste soggy and mushy.  So, we try to avoid that.

However, don't worry.  If you overcook your bean sprouts, they will still taste yummy.

We'll now, stir, add our Soy Sauce, and will cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Since our bean sprouts are translucent, we'll remove our lid, stir, and will place in our bowl.

Voila!!

Our bean sprouts are slightly crispy, soft, and have just the right amount of flavor.

Kevin calls our bean sprouts "noodles," since they resemble Ramen or other types of Asian Noodles.

We also made a low-carb Thai Red Curry for dinner (which, we'll post next week), and acted as if these sprouts were rice. We poured our curry over our bean sprouts and felt like we were in Foodie Heaven!

We hope you enjoy our bean sprouts just as much as we do!

From our kitchen to yours ~

Enjoy!
