Grandma Giraffe's Old World Low-Carb Spaghetti Sauce

We love the robust and fresh flavors of homemade Spaghetti Sauce.  Fresh tomatoes, along with spices really enhance the taste of any sauce, especially ours.

Grandma Giraffe's Old World Spaghetti Sauce embraces those flavors and creates a food party in your mouths.  Each bite brings back memories of Grandma's Spaghetti Sauce from back in the day....a delightful memory.

And to add to its deliciousness, our dish is simply low-carb!  Definitely a plus for any Spaghetti Sauce.  Now, our next chore, is to find a delicious low-carb Spaghetti Noodle.

Our Preparation time for our Spaghetti Sauce is about 10 minutes, while our cooking time is another 1 hour and 15 minutes.

This week's ingredients include:

  • 4 Roma Tomatoes
  • 2 Small Cans of Tomato Sauce
  • 2 Small Cans of Sliced Mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp. Oregano or Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 1 Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Cup Reduced Sugar Ketchup
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1 Pound of Ground Beef
We'll begin by slicing our onions, using our 1-Second Slicer (We think this device is absolutely genius and very user-friendly.  If you click on our words "1-Second Slicer," the link will direct you to the product at Amazon.com)

We'll then add our ground beef, chopped onions, and garlic to our skillet, will cover and cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until our beef has fully browned.

While we're awaiting our hamburger mixture to complete cooking, we'll slice our tomatoes, also using our 1-Second Slicer.

Since our ground beef has fully cooked, we'll drain our grease and return our skillet to our burner.

Next, we'll add our Tomato Sauce, Ketchup, chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, Parmesan Cheese, and will stir until well blended.

We'll then, add our Oregano, will stir, and will cover, cooking for another 30 minutes.

At our 30 minute mark, we'll lower our temperature to medium low and will continue cooking for another 15-30 minutes, or until our tomatoes have softened.

We'll also occasionally stir our sauce, to avoid our ingredients from sticking to the bottom of our pan.

Our tomatoes appear to have cooked and have therefore, softened.

We notice that the longer we cook our sauce, the more the flavors are enhanced. So, if we are not in a rush, we'll simmer our sauce for as long as we like.

Ahhhhhhh....  the aroma is superbly enticing and its flavor is absolutely yummy!

Each bite reminds us of Grandma's sauce that she had brought from the Old Country.  The taste of our fresh tomatoes, along with our spices are just incredible!

Our fresh and tomatoey spaghetti sauce can accompany or be included in many yummy dishes.

Next week, we'll use our old style spaghetti sauce to create freshly baked, yummy stuffed peppers.

However, for this week, we hope you'll enjoy our old style spaghetti sauce as much as we do.

From our kitchen to yours ~

Enjoy!!
