Smokey's Sweet and Tangy Low-Carb Creamy Italian Dressing

We remember when making our own Ranch Salad Dressing from the packet was very popular.

However, we haven't seen that kind of salad dressing in awhile and wasn't sure if people still made their own homemade dressing. Then, we thought, hmmmm, how difficult could it be to create our own salad dressing.  Believe it or not, it was not difficult at all and was actually, quite simple.

Preparation time is about 5-10 minutes and there is no cooking required.

We really enjoy the gourmet salad dressing from the produce department of our local Safeway.  However, we believe that our homemade dressing tastes equally delicious, if not better than store bought.

This week's ingredients include:

  • 2 Tbsp. Chopped Parsley
  • 2 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp. Oregano or Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4th Cup Sour Cream
  • 1/4th Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4th Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/4th Cup Olive Oil
  • 1/4th tsp. Sweetener of Choice
  • Ground Pepper to taste
We'll begin by adding our Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Apple Cider Vinegar, Olive Oil, Garlic, Oregano, Sweetener, and pepper to our mixing bowl and will whisk until all is well blended.

The Apple Cider Vinegar offers our dressing a sweet and tangy flavor.  White wine vinegar may be substituted.  However, the dressing will be a little less sweet.

Next, we'll add our Parmesan Cheese and Parsley to our dressing and will stir.

Next, we'll pour our dressing into our glass container and will place in our refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until our dressing has chilled.

However, if a room temperature dressing is preferred, simply pour and serve.

Finally, we'll remove our dressing from our refrigerator and will pour over our salad.

We love our daily evening dinner salads and look forward to eating them every night.

Our new salad dressing makes our dining experience that much more exciting.

We love the tangy and creaminess of our dressing, which thoroughly coats our lettuce, Chick Peas, and Green Peppers.

Hopefully, you will enjoy our homemade salad dressing as much as us.

From our kitchen to yours ~

Enjoy!
